Travel Basketball Tryouts

East Windsor Travel Basketball is offering tryout sessions in October at the EWHS gym.  Please see the flyer found i nthe link below for all of the information.  This program is open to girls and boys in grades 5 through 8.  Please register in advance.

Travel Tryouts

Week of October 14 –  October 22  

  • Boys Grade 6: Tuesday/Thursday 7:15 @ EW Middle School
  • Boys Grade 7: 10/14-Sat 10:00, Tues/Thurs 6:00 @ EW Middle School
  • Boys Grade 8: Monday/Thursday/Friday 5:45 @ EW High School
  • Girls Grades 5&6: Mon/Wednesday at 7:00, Fri 5:45 @ EW Middle School
  • Girls Grades 7&8: Tuesday/Thursday 7:00 @ EW High School

October 23 & 25: 

  • Boys Grade 5: Monday/Wednesday@ EWMiddle School 6:00

Travel Basketball is for those players that demonstrate that they have the attitude, ability, and dedication to compete against teams from area towns.  Season includes playing in the EW Preseason Jamboree in November, participating in weekly practices per week, and playing a 16+ game schedule from December 1 – February 28  

 A $60 fee is due at the time of selection of the Team.  If a player is not selected for Travel, they will be placed on a Rec Team and will participate at the recreational level with no additional costs.  Rec season starts November 19th with teams forming immediately after Thanksgiving.

Rec registration for grades Pre-K – Grade 8 begins October 15th   Applications are available and can be submitted at the EW Parks & Rec Office

East Windsor Athletic Club Scholarship Awards

The East Windsor Athletic Club (EWAC) honored three EWHS Class of 2017 members with scholarship awards.  The recipients are Kara Lanz, Stephanie Rodrigue, and Justin Turley.  These scholarships are made possible by the many fundraising efforts of the EWAC, including the annual EWAC Golf Tournament held each June.  Pictured below are the three recipients and EWAC member Melissa Maltese.

East Windsor Athletic Club Veteran Donation

The East Windsor Athletic Club (EWAC) presented the Veterans Comminssion Memorial Green project chairman Jim Barton with a check for $1000 as a donation for the Memorial Green project.  This donation was made possible by the many fundraising efforts of the EWAC, including the annual EWAC Golf Tournament held each June.  Pictured below are EWAC mebers Dave Pitney, Jim Barton of the veterans commission, Al Demers, and Jim Viggiano.

Summer Champions

The summer season is over.  The State champions are off to the various regional tournaments.  The following is a list of the various summer champions in the many local divisions.

American Legion 19u: Stamford (lost in Semi-Finals in New England Regional to NE Champion Mass)

American Legion 17u: Ellington

American Legion 15u: Greenwich

FBVL 19u: Pro Courier (West Hartford)

FBVL 15u: CT Mirage (Granby)

FBVL 13u: Wallingford Cardinals

Little League 11/12 : Fairfield Americans (Fairfield won the New England Region and advances to Williamsport.  Fairfield lost in the semi-finals to US Champion Texas)

Little League 10/11: Wallingford

Little League 09/10: Madison

Contratulations EW Black Majors & EW Gold AAA!

The regular season division winners have been decided.  The Majors division has been won by the Black team and the AAA division won by the Gold team.   Congratulations to the players and coaches.   Good luck in the upcoming inter town championship games against Windsor Locks, the date and time for the games are below.   Go EW!

Awesome New Batting Cages

With the help from a grant from Little League International, CJN Construction (CJ Natitus) and Advanced Electrical Systems (Jim Thurz), and the long hours of many volunteers  two new batting cages have been installed for use by EWLL.   Thanks to all those who volunteered and all our sponsors who helped make this possible.  We are trying to add lights for the batting cages 2017 season!
